Gosh Nail Polish Review

Gosh Nail Goodies

[L-R Magic Star 562, Miss Sweety 595, Avant Garde 75]

I love Gosh polishes soo much!! It goes on so smoothly, and the colour never disappoints, i.e. they paint on your nails the same colour they appear on the bottle! The polish consistency is perfect, i couldn't ask for better. Superdrug was having a 3-for-2 and i spotted a lovely nude colour (Miss Sweety 595) and decided (as all us shoppaholics do) it made more sense getting 3 polishes instead of my initial 1. So i added a beautiful glittery transparent polish (Magic Star 562) and another polish in my staple shade, dark wine red (Avant Garde 75).

I painted on the nude colour with the glittery shade over for a festive feel. Magic Star is a brilliant top coat if you are looking to add some sparkle to your regular polish, it's also gives a nice, clean look on its own. Here are the results:

2 coats nude
2 coats nude + 1 coat glitter

£4.99 each at Superdrug

Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer Kit Review

On the quest for the perfect concealer.......

Look at pictures of me when I’m 5 and you’ll see I’ve been plagued with dark-eye circles all my life. I’ve tried tea bags, cucumbers, cheap creams and expensive ones, but nothing has worked. I’m sick and tired of every one of them claiming to be the miraculous solution, and so have come to the conclusion that nothing will work, and the only thing that will work is the temporary solution of heavy-duty concealer.
As I actually hate make-up, my daily routine consists of moisturising and concealer under my dark rings. No doubt make-up is essential though, especially for someone plagued with skin problems like myself.
Currently, I’m using two Bobbi Brown products, and because they work really well, I’m reluctant to swap over. While I’d possibly like a bit more ‘natural’ coverage, this has been the best product I’ve found so far.
Pros: I use the Bobbi Brown colour corrector in Bisque before I apply the regular Bobbi Brown concealer. The colour corrector as a base neutralises my dark circles dramatically. Although it looks too ‘dark’, once you put on the Bobbi Brown concealer (I use Warm Beige) above the colour corrector, it blends in flawlessly. Most importantly it doesn’t leave it looking like I’ve got two white rings under my eyes, as it’s often the case with weak concealers where you don’t apply foundation after.
Another point to note it’s not drying or cake-y, so it doesn’t make wrinkles stand out. It’s quite moisturising in itself, although I tend to put under-eye cream as a base.
Cons: It’s quite pricey, especially since I use it every day and have been through about three tubs in a year.
Apart from the price I can’t think of anything else except that when I can’t find my colour corrector and place the regular concealer on, it doesn’t hide my dark rings as well and it looks really obvious that I’ve tried to conceal the my dark circles.

Vichy DermaBlend Corrective Foundation Review

I discovered this tube of awesomeness while shopping in my local Boots - and almost a year down, i'm still in awe with my discovery!
It is being advertised as a product to cover skin imperfections and comes across as pretty industrial stength stuff. I'm particularly impressed with it's infallible coverage, an entire day of wear (12-14hours) and absolutely no touch-ups required, it's all still there when i wipe my face off at night! The foundation goes on very smooth as well, i use it with my fingers - and less is more is definitely key! You need only spread a tiny dot all over your face and blend, any more will make it look thick.
I don't use this everyday, but i've had it for about a year and it's still over half tube full. My complexion looks so flawless in this, i always use this for a little boost - as someone is bound to ask me what foundation i'm using! I use it in 15 Opal, which is the lightest in the range. Plus it is non-comedogenic and has SPF 11 - Very important in my books!!
The only cons i may have with this product is that it is not exceptionally moisturising for dry skin like mine. So i normally use a moisturiser under this (i know, i know! i'm really lazy!!) But this is the only set-back i can think of. Also, it is meant to be fragrance-free, but smells a little plastic-y to me.
Overall, i'd definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great all-round foundation, that lives up to what's promised on the packaging.
