John Frieda Precision Foam Colour Hair Dye Review

A girlfriend living in Asia had told me about a new revolutionary home hair dying FOAM kit a year ago, so when a couple months back John Frieda & Nice 'n' Easy versions hit the UK stores, i grabbed one! I chose John Frieda as i like their shampoos, mainly too because of packaging, if i am to be honest. I finally got down to colouring my hair yesterday, as i wanted a new look for the new year! Also, my roots are always bugging me, my natural hair is very dark brown and it grows in lightning speed but i have always had dyed brownish-reddish hair since i was 16. A lot of friends and family have been requesting i go back to my natural colour, so i gave it a go!

I was very excited about this, as it promised 'salon-precise FOAM coverage', so it would be like shampooing your hair, only when you wash it out it changes colour! Sounds fool-proof! I went to salons for the past year as DIY kits come off very DIY-ish on my long, thick hair.. It's messy and the colour comes off really patchy on my hair, from the areas i have put more dye than others or areas i miss out at the back.

The colour i tried out was 3N in Deep Brown Black. The process was simple, instead of the conventional 'vigorous shaking' to mix the components, you tilt the bottle gently back and forth 5 times, simple! Lots of foam came out, i had a lot of fun applying it, smells good too, & covered my hair with the entire contents of the bottle. The non-drip formula made me confident enough to use it in my bedroom. And waited.. 25minutes.. but on my way to the bathroom to wash it out i bump into my housemate and we get chatting for 10minutes.. woops! I wash it out and blow dry my hair, it's glossy and smells pretty, the colour is extraordinarily even! I use a mirror to check the back and get my housemate to confirm it. It looks more like black, with a slight brownish tint under light but that is because i left it on for longer than recommended.

My hair colour before...
...And after!
2011: I foresee lots of money saved not having to get salon-coloured hair! Thank you John Frieda! I've raved about it to all my friends!

Skin Wisdom 4 in 1 cleansing face wipes Review

Just thought i'd share something i picked up at Tesco's a month ago. I needed some make-up remover wipes, and spotted some from Skin Wisdom. I don't normally purchase unfamiliar brands, but i took an instant liking to the minimalistic packaging, and the brand name itself, which comes across professional sounding and trust-worthy.

The 4-in-1 Cleansing Wipes list Green Tea, Chamomile & Shea Butter on the front  - i relate immediately to antioxidant & anti-aging (green tea), soothing (chamomile) & moisturising (shea butter) properties - very promising! I loved the sound of it. Price wise, £2.74/pack but it was on 2 for 1, super bargain!
I excitedly tried the wipes to remove my makeup that same night, and was very delighted. The smell is a delicious, fresh scent, that instantly uplifts my mood and left my skin in bliss! (after reading the back of the packaging i find out it is a holistic range - which makes sense.) My boyfriend even commented on how nice i smelt when i hopped into bed. My skin feels so soft and moisturised, even when i wake up in the morning. It feels too good to be true for a product that cheap! On the description it says the wipes can be used to remove waterproof mascara as well, and even thought i remove my mascara with a separate eye makeup remover, these wipes do a pretty decent job if you are not too fussy or lazy.

Needless to say, i will continue using these awesome wipes & perhaps try out some of their other range in future!

£2.74 - for 25 wipes (currently on 2for1 at Tescos)
